Introducing Joe Lawson

Joe is a firearm Instructor for Parabellum Firearms, Range and Training Facility located in Avon, IN. He has trained numerous people in firearm safety, basic handgun, concealed carry, advanced handgun, low light and private lessons. He has over 25 years of firearm handling, training and experience with handguns and long guns. Joe was chosen to work as a firearm instructor and trainer for members of the Indianapolis Colts security team.

He is an NRA certified firearms instructor and a NRA certified CRSO (Chief Range Safety Officer). Joe is also a USCCA Certified Firearm Instructor (Concealed Carry & Home Defense), as well as a USCCA Certified Training Counselor (Train the trainer).

Joe also has additional and advanced training and certifications under Mr. Matt Seibert of Insight Firearms Training, headquartered in Prescott, AZ. Mr. Seibert is considered one of the best firearm instructors in the country, having trained such elite cadre and members of Delta Force and Navy SEALs, as well as federal law enforcement agencies. Joe’s training and certifications under Mr. Seibert include (Deadly Accuracy & Speed Shoot/Don’t Shoot).

He is also a regular presenter at the 5.11 Tactical store in Indianapolis. He host free seminars at the 5.11 Tactical store on such topics as Home Security & Defense, Emergency Preparedness, Tactical firearm fundamentals and others.

Joe’s previous experience includes working for the Jail Division of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, where he attended the departments elite CERT School (Corrections Emergency Response Team) and was chosen as a member of the divisions Gang Intelligence Unit. In 1999, he decided to leave the Sheriff’s department and pursue opportunities for global travel and adventure, visiting numerous countries and all seven continents.

His passion is training others to better protect themselves and their loved ones.

About Joe

People have asked how we came up with the idea to open a range. The truth is, it was my wife’s idea.

I have shot all my life, even having an FFL from 1981 thru 1996 during which time I was shooting competitively quite a lot. I had always said that I wanted to have a small gun shop once I retired. What changed all that is all the current interest in guns.

Trevor served 5 years active duty Air Force as a Security Forces Member doing Nuclear Weapons Security.

He is certified on all weapons systems and specialized in Crew Served Weapons including the MK19 grenade launcher. He also specialized in fire team and squad tactics.
